Not every part of a wellness session involves touch. Aroma therapy works through one of our oldest senses — smell — and is often used at Aujaswa as a calming addition to a regular treatment.
What is aroma therapy?
Aroma therapy is the use of natural plant extracts, known as essential oils, to support relaxation and a sense of wellbeing. Oils such as lavender, eucalyptus, or sandalwood are diffused into the air or, in some cases, lightly applied during a session, allowing their scent to be part of the overall experience.
It's considered one of the gentlest complementary practices available, since it works passively in the background — you simply breathe normally while the scent does its part.
How it's typically used in a session
At Aujaswa, aroma therapy is rarely a standalone appointment. Instead, it's woven into the atmosphere of a treatment room — a diffuser running quietly while you receive acupuncture, cupping or another therapy, helping create a calmer environment for the session.
If you have a personal preference for or sensitivity to certain scents, it's worth mentioning this to Dr. Reshika before your session so the room can be adjusted accordingly. Some patients also like to discuss specific oils they find particularly relaxing, which can sometimes be incorporated into their visit.
What it generally feels like
Most people notice the scent within the first few minutes of entering the treatment room, and describe it as a subtle, pleasant background presence rather than something overpowering. It tends to fade into the background of awareness as the main treatment proceeds, while still contributing to an overall sense of calm.
General wellness benefits
Many patients say that the right scent helps them settle into a treatment more easily, supporting a more relaxed state during sessions like acupuncture or cupping where stillness matters. As a complementary element rather than a treatment in itself, its main role is to make your time at the clinic feel more soothing from the moment you walk in.
A gentle addition, not a replacement
Aroma therapy at Aujaswa is offered as a complementary touch alongside your main treatment, rather than a therapy meant to address specific concerns on its own. If you're curious about how it might fit into your visit, mention it when you book — Dr. Reshika can let you know what's currently available.
